Working with the studio
- What does Phosphor Digital do?
- Phosphor Digital is a multi-media production studio based in Tacoma, Washington, serving Pierce and King County and the wider Puget Sound. We do four things: photography, videography, graphic design, and product design. Design work is handled for clients anywhere in the world.
- What areas do you serve?
- We shoot on location across the Puget Sound — Tacoma, Puyallup, Gig Harbor, Lakewood, Federal Way, Kent, Auburn, Bonney Lake, Seattle, Bellevue, and Olympia. There is no travel fee inside Pierce and King County. Travel elsewhere is quoted on request, and design work can be handled remotely from anywhere.
- How do I book a project?
- Send your scope and date through the contact page. You get a written flat quote, usually within one business day. When you approve it, a deposit reserves your date on the studio calendar and applies in full to your final invoice.
- How much is the deposit, and is it refundable?
- Deposits vary by project size and are shown at checkout before you pay. The deposit holds your date and is credited against the final invoice. Cancellations are handled through your client dashboard, and eligible deposits are refunded to the original payment method with an emailed refund receipt.
- How much do your services cost?
- Published starting points are on the pricing page: graphic design from $450, product design from $250, photography from $225, videography from $1,200. Every project is quoted as a single fixed figure before work begins, so there are no surprise line items afterward.
- How long does a project take?
- Photography galleries are typically delivered within one week, brand identity work runs two to four weeks depending on revision rounds, and video productions depend on shoot days and cut length. Every quote states the delivery window in writing, and rush timelines are available as a clearly listed line item.
- What files do I get, and who owns them?
- You receive production-ready files for the medium: full-resolution edited images plus web-sized versions, vector logo packages with the formats printers and sign shops ask for, and delivered video in the aspect ratios you need. Usage rights for the agreed purpose transfer to you, spelled out in the quote.
- Can you handle design work if I am not in Washington?
- Yes. Logos, brand systems, apparel and pin artwork, signage files, and marketing collateral are handled remotely for clients anywhere in the world. Only photography and video require us to be on location.
- Do you work with businesses as well as families?
- Both. Roughly half our work is B2B — branding, product artwork, signage, commercial photography, and brand video for small businesses across Pierce and King County. The other half is direct to consumer: senior portraits, weddings, family sessions, and event coverage.

Photography
- How fast do I get my photos?
- Real estate galleries deliver in 24 to 48 hours. Events and portraits typically deliver within one to two weeks. Weddings run three to six weeks with a preview gallery sooner.
- Do you travel outside Pierce and King County?
- Yes. Travel throughout the Puget Sound is routine, and destination work is quoted case by case.
- Are images edited?
- Every delivered image is color-corrected and graded. Retouching beyond that — object removal, sky replacement, detailed portrait work — is quoted with the project.
- Can I use the photos for advertising?
- Yes. Commercial usage rights are included for business clients so you can run the images in listings, ads, print, and social.
Graphic Design
- Do I own the artwork?
- Yes. Final files and the working source files are transferred to you at the end of the project. No licensing fees, no hostage files.
- How long does a brand identity take?
- A logo suite typically runs two to three weeks. A full identity system with collateral usually lands between four and six weeks depending on revision rounds.
- Can you work from a logo I already have?
- Often, yes. If it exists in vector we can extend it into a full system. If it only exists as a low-resolution image, we redraw it first.
- Do you design websites?
- We design brand systems, page layouts, and the visual assets a site needs. Tell us who is building the site and we will hand off in whatever format their developer prefers.
Product Design
- Do you handle printing and manufacturing?
- We design and prepare production files. We can recommend local Puget Sound print shops, embroiderers, pin manufacturers, and sign fabricators, and coordinate proofs with them on your behalf.
- What file formats do I receive?
- Vector source, print-ready PDF or EPS with correct bleed and color mode, plus flattened mockups for your own marketing use.
- Can you match an existing brand?
- Yes. Send your brand guide or existing files and we design within them, or extend the system where it does not cover the product.
- Is there a minimum project size?
- No. One shirt graphic is a real project. So is a full merch line and signage package for a new location.
Videography
- What does a typical production timeline look like?
- About four to five weeks: discovery and shot list, pre-production and scheduling, the production day, then edit, one revision round, color and sound, and final delivery.
- Do you write the script?
- Yes. Scripting, interview question design, and storyboarding are part of pre-production on most projects.
- Do you provide music licensing?
- We license the track for the delivered cuts and document the license so your use is covered.
- Can you shoot photo and video on the same day?
- Frequently, and it is usually the cheaper option. Tell us both needs up front so we plan the day around getting each properly rather than squeezing stills between takes.
